VIKTOR&ROLF HAUTE COUTURE SPRING/SUMMER 2019 ‘FASHION STATEMENTS’
An investigation into the expressive power of clothing. This season, Viktor&Rolf present a group of exaggerated romantic tulle dresses. Volumes are grand but airy, with transparent ruffles, flounces and bows. The colourful collection is entirely executed in 8 kilometers of tulle.
The silhouettes, sculptural and extreme, ranging from various A-lines to hourglass, are astutely expressive: each dress provides the backdrop for a bold text which is executed in layers of laser cut tulle. These texts are mainly one-liners: slogans with the kind of simplification typical of social media captions or souvenir t-shirts. The juxtaposition of these seemingly unrelated elements results in a typical Viktor&Rolf expression of surreal beauty.
My responsibilities consisted out of a wide range of tasks. The main responsibility was to manage all media output front stage and backstage. (For instance, organizing the backstage editorial photoshoot as well as; the look book shoot, live stream and behind the scenes photos/videos) I made sure all assets met up with the brands standards and were done within set times and budgets. After the show my task was to update all digital output on all social media channels incl. the website of the generated assets made during the show.
Furthermore the general organization was part of my tasks as well, supporting in communication with partners,press and guests but also in between teams. Making sure all would go streamlined and deadlines were met.
